Analytical Reflection

During the oral presentation, I had to convince a group of classmates that acts like stakeholders (Ministry of Health) to adopt my group’s proposal, which is the use of sensor technology through wristband for the elderly, particularly those who live alone.

My group, The Guardians, managed to find some time to do a run through of the whole presentation despite being busy. At first take, all three of us had many glitches here and there but we still continue on to practice individually to perfect it further.

Beforehand, I had written the important points that I would be talking about during my slides. Day and night I would go over these points while hoping that the facts would stay in my head and flow out easily.

During the first few minutes of my presentation, confidence was overflowing me as I managed to gain the audience attention and engaging them. However my mind went blank suddenly during the Conclusion part as I had forgotten the main points I wanted to talk about and this affected my flow.

I deliberately left a slide for the Conclusion empty so that I could easily gain attention from the audience and end it off with huge impact. It was my first time trying that out and it was either a make or break. Sadly it didn’t flow as planned but I still managed to continue and end the presentation safely.

Nevertheless, I was given such heart-warming feedback from my classmates and Brad. I was told that my tone of voice was audible, engaging and my use of video demonstration and visual slides were great.

Probably it was too ambitious of me to use the blank screen in the efforts to provide a better and effective way of presenting since it was my first try on such tactics. However, I won’t back down so easily and would most definitely try again but this time I will be more prepared and confident about it.

  1. Hi Sha,

The Guardians have arrived! *white background light* *holy feeling* This is the introduction~ Fadhli also has that! Anyways, I will like to thank you for being in the same group as me, tolerating all my flaws through this project. I really enjoyed my time with you guys. Honestly, you did a great job during presentation. I think you were brave and smart to leave an empty slide in order to have the attention on you. I believe you were just nervous as this is our first formal presentation since the start of our University school life. I see that you did an excellent job at the presentation showcase by being the MC. You were awesome! So do not give up and continue that spirit of yours! I look forward to more awesome presentation of yours. Well, not to forget that The Guardians will reunite one day!

P/S: S-Rex is typing her way through this comment man~ HAHAHAH! I do not type like a dinosaur okay! ;)

    With love,
    Serene :)
